Bloodgood fans rejoice! Finally there is a DVD available with this great band. First thing that strikes me is the cool packaging. This is by far the coolest and best DVD package I have ever seen! Inside the package are two DVDs containg the same material as was on their VHS videos Alive in America and Shaking The World. Musically the DVD shows Bloodgood at their best with classics like Out of The Darkness, The Messiah, Seven, She's Gone, Black Snake and many many more. Something outstanding with this DVD is all the actors that help to portray the message in Bloodgood's tunes. The most heartgripping moment is the crucifiction and resurrection of Christ. It's so amazing that God loved us so much that He was willing to send his Son to suffer and die in our place so we can have our sins forgiven and have eternal life with Him. Bloodgood and the actors make a great job in showing what Christ did for us, playing all the roles from Christ to Pontius Pilate. This is an outstanding release both musically and visually and with a message that will touch your heart. Bloodgood made a fantastic job doing this cool release and I'm glad they finally made it available on DVD. Narnia has always been a great liveband and it was with joy and much anticipation I sat down before the TV to watch this DVD that clocks for 90 minutes. And I'm very pleased with the result! Great tunes, great scenshow, excellent sound and a cool light show. I think the band has done an excellent job when they chose the tracks for the DVD. They have succeeded to choose many of their best tunes from all of their four cds. The tracks on the DVD are: Inner Sanctum, The Mission, War Preludium, The Countdown Has Begun, Back From Hell, No Time To Lose, Long Live The King, Living Water, Shelter Through The Pain, Dangerous Game, Guitar solo, Awakening, Break The Chains and The Witch And The Lion. There is also some cool bonusmaterial where you among other things can see Calle play soccer with his guitar (!), get to know the band better and also get a history lesson about the band's history so far. All in all this is an exellent DVD that I highly can recommend! Definately a must have for anyone into melodic metal and especially for all Narnia fans out there. References: Fans of melodic guitarshredding metal aka Impellitteri, Yngwie Malmsteen and Rainbow are gonna love this release. This live DVD truly shows Mortification at their best! It's filled with classics from their first three albums and musically it's quality death metal. The gig was recorded at Black Stump, which is the big christian music festival in Australia. This is also the last gig with the excellent drummer Jayson Sherlock. The picture and sound quality of the mainshow is excellent. Besides the band's own material they have also done an excellent cover of Bloodgood's classic Black Snake. The DVD also contains the videos Live Planetarium, Scrolls of the Megilloth and Bathed In Blood. The band has also included bonus clips from miscelleanous gigs all around the world. The DVD also contains interviews and clips from the vocalist Steve Rowe's home. Some of the extra material doesn't match up to the maingig qualitywise but it is still enjoyable. Anyway, the maingig of the dvd is definately a classic and makes this to an absolute must have for fans of early Mortification. Highly recommended to death metal fans overall and especially to fans of early Mortification. This is a fantastic DVD for any fan of Jerusalem! It contains the whole 30-yearscelebration gig that lasted for 2,5 hours! During this time they ripped through all their classics. At the end of the gig two settings of Jerusalem plays simultaneously, with two bass, two drummers, two keyboards and then Ulf Christiansson. Wow! This makes the tunes heavier and better than ever, Noa for example has never ever sound this good before! If you however have never heard of Jerusalem I would describe their sound as melodic catchy hardrock with plenty of influences from 70s and 80s hardrock/metal. They have also been compared to bands like Scorpions musically. On this double DVD there are also 6 live videos and lots of interviews, so this is really the ultimate release for all you Jerusalem fans out there! There is one problem however, and that is that it's in Swedish only, so you have to learn it to really get the most out of this megacool dvd. This is Stryper's first live DVD, ever. It is also very historical since it's recorded on the last gig with the original bass player Timothy Gaines. Tim left the band a short time after the recording to pursue other music. The DVD contains classics like Calling On You, Free, More Than A Man, Caught In The Middle, Reach Out, Loud And Clear, The Way, Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With The Devil, Honestly as well as Winter Wonderland. Besides the gig the DVD also features short interviews with Stryper fans in Puerto Rico. On the gig Robert Sweet has a really big drumkit reminding of the big ones they had in the 80s and there are plenty of yellow and black on the scene, just as it should be. Sound and picture is excellent and the band pull off the tunes very well and put on a great show while they boldly deliver the message of Christ. There are also plenty of guitar solos and catchy hooks to enjoy so it's really a melodic metal feast. To sum it up it's an excellent DVD that I really can recommend to all Stryper fans out there and also to everyone into melodic metal. This is the official public release of the Stryper DVD. It contains the same tunes as the Limited Edition version but has a different cover. It also has a few bonus tracks from 1989 including a drum solo that is not on the Limited Edition. The bonus tracks is what makes this worth getting. The big downfall on this version compared to the limited edition is the remixing of the sound to the 5.1 sound system. Maybe this sounds great if you have 5.1 system, but I don't have it so I just don't know. All I know is that in stereo it sounds really bad with way too much bass. I so much wished they had kept the original sound! Even when I switch to stereo sound in the menu it still sounds bad. The tunes are still great and the dvd is cool overall but the bad sound quality just don't make the tunes justice. There are however some improvements compared to the Limited Version release. The menu is much better and looks much more professional and the cover looks awesome. So, here is the deal: If you want the bonus tracks go for this release, but if you want the best sound quality go for the Limited Edition while it still lasts. Once Dead consist of the members of Die Happy/Vengeance Rising + Scott Waters (Ultimatum) on vocals. They did a reunion gig to play Vengeance tunes on August 29th, 2004. The gig was recorded and released on this cool DVD. So now we can finally hear the great Vengeance tunes again! The band pulled off an energetic show and you can really see how excited they are to once again play together. I just wish they had included more tunes and had played a longer set. Besides the gig the DVD also includes a heartgripping interview with the members about Vengeance and the tragic fall of former vocalist Roger Martinez. To sum it up it's a cool DVD that will appeal to thrashers and especially to fans of early Vengeance Rising. Tourniquet is a great band. In 2003 they visited Bobfest in Sweden and recorded this DVD. The setlist includes classics from both early and recent albums including Ark of Suffering, Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance, Broken Chromosomes, Acidhead, Where Must and Rust Destroys and many more including a cool drum solo. I was personally at this gig and the whole gig was fantastic! Since I was at this gig myself I know the sound was extremely good but unfortunately something happened during the recording process and the result is an ok but not great sound. Visually it's varied, sometimes very good and sometimes somewhat blurry. Compared to previous Tourniquet DVDs this may however still be their best quality to date. The extramaterial includes rehearsal footage and a acoustic performance of "If I Was There" among other things. Anyway, it's a cool gig and plenty of great tunes to enjoy so to sum it up I do think it's a worthy DVD to check out for all you Tourniquet fans out there. Remember Holy Soldier? They were a great glam metal band in the 80s. And the good news is that they now have reformed! To celebrate this Roxx Productions/Spaceport Records has released a very special dvd with the band. The dvd features lots of rare footings of the band, both on and off stage. Besides this it also contains a really cool interview with the band on Japanese TV as well as 3 promo videos. On the extramaterial there are also interviews and clips with Ultimatum, Neon Cross and Tykküs. When it comes to the picture quality on the dvd it's very varied and some material are really blurry but nonetheless it's a nice and cool edition to fans of Holy Soldier.
